Do your patients know about everyday acids? Acid-rich foods and drinks are increasingly part of a modern diet. However, many patients are unaware of the damage that acids in everyday fruit, carbonated drinks and wine may cause their teeth. Repeated exposure to these dietary acids can leave enamel vulnerable to acid erosion, but the early stages can be diffi cult to identify and often go unnoticed by patients. Early diagnosis and appropriate dental care recommendations are key to help manage and reduce acid erosion effects and avoid irreversible damage. One step is to recommend a specialist toothpaste like Sensodyne ProNamel, to help provide ongoing protection from the effects of acid erosion. 1 For daily protection against the effects of acid erosion recommend Sensodyne ProNamel Visit www.dental-professional.com/Access for patient samples.
