WOC AIMS FOR ITS LARGEST SHOW IN NINE YEARS The World of Concrete 2018 is fast approaching and expectations are once again high for a whopper of a show. This year’s event is set for Jan. 23-26, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This year’s event is predicted to be the largest WOC on nine years. Last year’s show drew 50,770 registered industry professionals who shopped the wares of more than 1,450 manufacturers. Total exhibit space exceeded 681,000 square feet. As impressive as those numbers are, the 2017 failed to match the 2016 show’s results. So for 2018, what’s new? Everything and nothing. This year, outdoor competitions and exhibits will be located in the Bronze Lot, next to South Hall, but otherwise, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Of course, there are 150 or so educational course for contractors, CSDA classes and events and perennial show favorites including the Spec Mix Bricklayer 500 and Toughest Tender competitions, the MCAA (Mason Contractors Association of America) Masonry Skills Challenge and Fastest Trowel on the Block competitions — plus a wheelbarrow full of trade group meetings and mudslinging fun.
